The social - art
project " Sydney Opera House 2000 "
Here r some possible variants of realization of the
project and remarks to your attention.
To ornament the dome with the image of a keyboard of a
grand piano.
Arranging musical signs on triangle parts or the dome.
To use the form of a dome of the roof for the image of
the sun
Colour scale corresponds the colour of the five
Olympic rings.
Using the emblem of Olympic games and its graphic
parts for the image of flower, desert, sky.
The social - art project " Sydney Opera House
2000 "
Sydney opera house is one the world's
most famous objects of architecture and a symbol of Australia. An unusual and
extraordinary architectural design and the upcoming Olympic Games inspired the
author of the project to represent this architectural complex from a new point
of view - as an art object.
The author of this project has certain
experience in turning the common and accustomed architectural buildings or
memorials into unexpected artistic objects. Artist Andrew Shevchenko presents
the project " Sydney Opera House 2000". The author has his own angle
of view on this architectural complex. The design of it matches his idea. The
domes of the building are turned into a huge and uncommon canvas. This artistic
solution should naturally attract a curiosity of world mass media present at Olympic
games 2000 in Sydney not to mention the citizens of Sydney and the guests of
the city at that period of time.
Technologically the project can be realized
in a few ways. From the authors angle of view the best solution is the use of
"rubber canvas" of required side and form with an in advance drawn
image which can be wrapped up over the domes when required. Thus the object can
be returned to its present state whenever required and no damage to the surface
of the roof is made.
This even will contribute the cultural program
of the Olympic Games and attract definite and strong interest of world media arriving
to Sydney for highlighting the Olympic games. Considering this the will of
sponsors to finance, or help the project technologically, information ally etc
is understandable and expected. Moreover we shouldn't forget the peak of tourist
activity in Sydney at that period. Subsequently afterwards it is possible to
support this activity by replacing the images on the domes of the Opera house. But
this is a topic for future discussions.
Considering the natural tourist and
informational interest to our project we can suppose a certain progressive
income for the city and Sydney Opera House budgets by selling souvenirs using
symbols or other images of Sydney Opera House during the project activity such
as
1. Post
cards.
2. T-shirts.
3. Badges.
4. Document
movie about the history of the project.
5. Posters.
6. Fireworks, concert during
official opening of the project.
